First introduced in 1884 the Colt lightning in .44/40 caliber which was the most popular cartridge in the 1873 revolver line. Over the years more frame sizes and calibers followed from .22lr all the way up to .50/95 express, with a total of over 185,000 rifles made until 1904 when production was stopped. Uberti has now reintroduced the legendary pump action lightning rifle but with modern steel that will stand up to modern ammunition. Available in .357 magnum and .45LC, the Uberti lightning is ready to perform with all the class of the original with its case color hardened receiver and walnut stock. The pump action on the Uberti lightning short rifle is quicker and smoother than a Winchester 1894 lever action, because as Colt originally said "nothing is faster than lightning".
